To master a craft takes years of practice, patience, and careful nurturing. What it creates is design that withstands the passage of time.
Born out of love for the uniqueness of handmade products and respect for Indian craftsmen and their largely untapped artisanal techniques, Artisanal Abode is a young furniture design studio that envisions aligning creativity with craft-based design. What started as a college project for founder Upasana Jain, a graduate from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and NYU, New York, has today taken shape as a boutique design house that combines the old and the new.
Each creation at Artisanal Abode is soulfully handcrafted, and reflects a refined mood, fusing traditional techniques and skills of production with modern design.
Today, Artisanal Abode works with some of the finest craftsmen around the country to reinterpret age-old techniques like Bidriware, Metal Ware, Gold Leafing, Inlay Work, Wood Carving, Hand Quilting and Hand Weaving, to name a few, to create contemporary furniture products. The sheer beauty and history behind such tradtional techniques, passed on from generation to generation, lends a unique touch to each piece that we craft at Artisanal Abode. Around each creation, there is a fascinating story to tell.
