Our Story
It started with a growing appreciation for India’s handmade crafts while studying at NID Ahmedabad. Upasana Jain, founder of Artisanal Abode, was fascinated to learn about various traditional craft-based techniques, which were passed on from generation to generation, resulting in a passion for quality.
She was so impressed that during her Master’s degree at NYU in New York, she decided to feature the 500 plus styles of handicrafts present across India for an assignment on data visualisation. The research carried out during this project led her to realise the large untapped potential of the se artisanal techniques, which sowed the seeds for Artisanal Abode.

Today, Artisanal Abode works with some of the finest craftsmen around the country to reinterpret age-old techniques like Bidriware, MetalWare, GoldLeafing, InlayWork, WoodCarving, HandQuilting and HandWeaving, to name a few. Each piece is soulfuly handcrafted using a broad material palete to create contemporary furniture for a global audience and moderntastes.
